Outreach and Evangelism

Once a month our church prepares and serves a meal at a local soup kitchen called "Loaves and Fishes" in New Milford. This is one way many of our members serve others in need. People also serve in a variety of other ways in the community. Some people in our church have participated in big brother/big sister programs. Some volunteer at the V.N.A Thrift store. Some drive people to doctor’s appointments. Some outreach is sponsored by the church but much of it is done informally in our community. Mission trips and projects sponsored by the church are another great way to serve and to discover deep ways to participate in ministry to others.

Evangelism is the act of helping another to become a disciple. It is anything you say or do that helps them to enter into this process of discipleship. It is anything we say or do to move a person one step closer to Jesus. Teaching people about the four steps of discipleship is a great way to lead a person to Christ. Describing what it means to seek, surrender, study, and serve through your own stories and personal experiences may help a person to enter into a living and vital relationship with Jesus Christ.
