Serve

The final step in this four step discipleship process is to serve. Some people serve without surrendering to Christ first, but service is most meaningful in the context of this larger discipleship process. When we serve after we surrender to Christ we realize that our actions are a response to God’s grace. As Christians we know that we do not go to heaven because of our goodness, but God’s goodness. Our service is a response to God’s goodness as it has been revealed through Christ Jesus on the cross. We serve Christ by serving others in leadership, teaching, prayer, outreach, and evangelism.

"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."
- Galatians 5:22-23
