The Evangelical Covenant Church
The Evangelical Covenant is best described as:
Evangelical, but not exclusive
Biblical, but not doctrinaire
Traditional, but not rigid
Congregational, but not independent
The Evangelical Covenant Church is a rapidly growing, multi-ethnic denomination in the United States and
Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. It was founded in 1885 by a group of Swedish immigrants breaking away from the state church system of Sweden. The Covenant Church values the Bible as the Word of God, the gift of God’s grace, and the importance of serving Jesus Christ by serving others.
For additional information on the Evangelical Covenant Church see Covenant Affirmations (Core Beliefs), or visit the Covenant Church web site at

The East Coast Conference:
We are also a part of the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. This includes 65 churches from Northern Main down to Virginia. We own and operate a Christian Camp and Conference Center called Pilgrim Pines in West Swanzey, NH. This includes our kids camp which is called Camp Squanto www.pilgrimpines.org. Our conference also shares in the ministries of Church planting, the Seafarer’s mission, and we support the work of Covenant Villiage and the Cromwell Children’s Home in Cromwell, CT. The East Coast Conference office is also in Cromwell and our Superintendent is the Rev. Howard Burgoyne. The East Coast Conference website can be found at www.eastcoastconf.org.
